I'm wondering if the Asus V8200 T2 Deluxe is a good card to get?
I've seen it on a web site for $227. Do you think this is a good card to get and is that a good price?

3d glasess LOL, i tried mine once, and ill tell ya its such a waste of plastic, what a useless gimmick.. i wish i could have found a oem package without the 3dglasses, maby that would have saved me a few bucks,, if you can get it without the glasses save your cash, since they are basically a waste of money,,
they work like crap, and thats when they even work at all. and they are verry problematic and driver dependent.
overall 3dglasses = stupid gimmick to get you to fork over more cash.

Got to agree, don't buy the card for the glasses, but I guess you're more interested in the other features anyway!?

The first thing I liked about this card is the great heat sink, huge covers the gpu and all the ram. Saw a review of the v8200 , regular g3, with the same heat sink and the reviewer said it over clocked futher than any other g3 they had tested. I also like the idea of video in and out, and the digital vcr software. Not sure if it captures in mpg2 or if captures in avi and you have to convert it, be cool to burn home movies to vcd.

The 3D glasses work fine. If you have a crap monitor they don't work fine. You will need a minimum refresh rate of 110 Hz, 120 Hz is the desired minimum. I've used the glasses various times with NFS Porsche Unleashed, UT(they're awesome in UT), Undying, anything using D3D looked good.
Overall buy a good monitor and the glasses work well. Buy a piece of sh*t monitor and the glasses work like sh*t.
As for the video capturing my V8200 deluxe works like a charm, the Asus live Video program captures in AVI format. Keep in mind the card DOES not have a tuner(at least the V8200 deluxe doesn't) but i use it to capture off of video tape(vcr) and you can always use the VCR as a tuner which i do. This feature comes in handy for my website's video section. I convert them all to Real Video format for streaming.
As for the T.V out that also works like a charm and is good quality, i have used both the composite out(RCA) and the S-video out and both looked great. If you have a sh*t T.V. with a bad picture it will not look good.
By the way to the fellows who think the 3D glasses don't work, mine work well so don't respond and try to convince me they really don't work well. On my system they rocked.

They may work but they are dumb.. also this is dependent on the drivers your using. some of the releases did not work properly.
next i have a monitor that can handle crazy refresh rates,, its a 17" NEC Professional series, that cost me a bundle ( i regret buying it since i could have spent the same cash on a 21" but its handy since it has dual inputs which i use to have two computers hooked up to it, and high refresh rates, and nice dpi screen)
so it has nothing to do with my monitor.. although i agree that you do need high refresh rates in order for it to work,, my point is that the end result is less then spectacular and is actually pretty lame, and not worth the extra cash that it probably cost them to include it in the first place.
i agree that tv out is pretty good , since i use that alot. Also tv in is ok , just its anoying to me that in win2k and xp it dosent work with netmeeting. As for tv tuner, well you can buy an external tv tuner for all nvidia chipset cards with tv in. so if you dont want to use your vcr then that option is available ( i have yet to try it though and vcr works just fine)

Received the asus v8200 t2 deluxe on Friday 11-09-01 and all I can say is WOW!!!! What a step up from my tnt2 ultra. Played the Comache4 demo and did it look GREAT. Played IndependenceWar2 and now there are star fields!!! Think I'm going out and buy Comache4 and Aquanox tomorrow. The card oc to 220/500 with no problem, great heat sink. Didn't try the glasses or the vivo stuff yet, not enough time to try all the games I've already played. Man what a great card. Feel like calling out sick for a week, maybe a month.
