No compensation, just lowered the ambient room temperatrure to 9 degrees C by leaving the window open all night.Outside it was -4 deg. C.
Of course, you have to wear a ski mask and 2 coats when you get on your 'puter!![]()

Yeah, just watch out for condensation. Don't want any moisture condensing onto your mobo or chip!
Nice job by the way.
Yeah, I love checking my temps in the winter. I don't leave the window open, but the computer room is colder than the rest of the house, and my temps look great!
LOL! ok, i know everyone must be thinking the same thing as me.
YOU'RE CRAZY!!!!
I got a good idea...throw the whole case in the deep freeze and run your cables out of there. I guarantee your temps will be awesome!...heh heh NJ man. I love the winter too...keep the heater vent closed to the computer room and open the window a little when I'm gaming...just to keep the temps down. But usually I have to wear a sweater and a couple pairs of socks if I do that.

HEHE. Actually I did it 'cause I'm doing an experiment for my Quality Systems class. My guess is that by the end of the experment the ambient room temperature will have the greatest effect on CPU, case, and mobo temps.

If you REALLY wanna get crazy, you can monitor all the voltages too.

BTW, these temps are my "normal" temps. The ambient room temperature is 22.2 degrees C

I considered setting mine outside the other night as I was bringing her back in from a LAN party, but I was too cold.I noticed you have "GeForce" entered as your third sensor on MBM5, how is this so? Did you just enter that in on the 3rd one?

I use an old Asus P2-T cable (thermistor) and have it stuck on a mem chip near the GPU; I know, Iknow, not the most accurate but it gives me an idea of how hot my vid card might be getting.Originally posted by Gangsta_D

As far as "GeForce", you just go under the "Visual" tab in MBM5 for that sensor and give a name for it. You can name any of the sensors whatever you want.
Hope that answered your question.![]()

I too have one of these old things. That is, if it survived the overheating and death of the 1.33ghz T-bird it killed. (didn't know not to put things between core and heatsink way back when) I wonder if my MSI board has the two little pins for this thing. I might try that, but with the cpu again, to the side of the core this time. Heh heh. Everything is going smooth right now, I need to get in there and end up breaking something like usual I suppose. Thanks, I knew about the name change, but just thought you might have just thought that the sensor 3 was automatically for your video card, heh heh. I have seen crazier things..........![]()
