    Perkin Elmer?

I bet those things have progressed a bit since I last used one. I used to know someone who did a PhD on column packings for GC - investigating the separation properties of natural zeolites (a class of natural mineral with adsorption properties) for small chain alkanes (hexanes, etc). Boring as hell for a 3 year project, but those machines are certainly good fun to play with.

I'll say... in my day it was a simple capillary column stuck in an oven with some gas pumped through it and a FID stuck on the other end, none of this nonsense they have on CSI and the likes

    Re: The Boinc Bar!

Hi all, F@H seems to have decided that single processors aren't worth their time, so I've got Boinc running on my s754. I chose climate prediction, so you won't notice for a few months, but I thought I'd let you know.
Confused the bugger with a bios reset, but it seems to be running fine now. I'm getting a couple of gig memory sticks today so I'll fix the bios date then. It will take a while as I'll probably switch a lot of hardware around and swap in an opti heatsink, as my xp120 doesn't seem to be doing the job (or the s754 Venice memory controller isn't very good (2.4 stock but not much oc, etc etc)

    Will check in then.
Hey UB, How does the Killer B's thing work, and is anyone else running climate predictor?
