Gonna try to get to our remote property today, but don't think we'll even get close with the truck.

Also want to scout for morel areas. Always a bumper crop of morels the year after a fire (in the burned areas) and want to keep tabs on things. It's not been warm enough yet but expect them to start popping up in a couple of weeks. And I love morels!
Southern California seems to get a plant after a fire that is kind of like Poison Ivy and that nobody wants, As It's not good for either the skin or to be breathing the pollen in, Glad I live where I do as the plant also requires some water and We don't get too much of that or fires either here thankfully.

    Morning all....

Been too damn busy. I was elected (OK I was out of the room for a minute is all!) president of our home owners assoc. Whic lool translates to: the guy everyone bitches at. The pay is great, though Last 10 days or so I've had average of 5 call a day to deal with and it takes away from forum time...Crap, this may become a 2 year commitment, too.

Oh well, soo enough I'll have done my part, then I'll be able to sit back and bitch myself!

Glad you're feeling spunky enough, Fluff. Don't worry Scruff, you'll soon enough be wishing for time at home again.

Smokie, that sounds like fun...trompin round lookin fer shrooms, that is. Sure has been awfully cold here still. Crap, the freezing level (read SNOW!) was still below 2K all week round here. Can someone say skiing in June?

At least You're getting paid, I didn't at all when I was President of a HOA back in the 90's when I was living in a Condo(12 unit place), The real power was the Treasurer of course, She rented Her place of course, I only got the job cause I could speak English and in 2 years We never had any meetings or I wasn't notified of any at least. Skiing in June, Wouldn't work too well down here, Maybe in Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead, maybe. It's just been warm and then occasionally warmer still(mid 90's).

Nooooo, dood there is no pay whatsoever! Hell I do get accused of misappropriating funds, for instance.

I never had that at least, I was glad to get out of there as the stupid Treasurer wouldn't allow any Cable TV or Satellite TV in at all, As she said She'd sue, That woman was a dork regardless of Her ancestry(Chinese I think), So after two years, I sold the place($20,000 profit) and left town. If I'd known what was going to happen I would have told Her point blank to but out when It came to Satellite TV, But then She acted like a little tin plated dictator too. She is and was a snob.

Had a look at my computer this morning. The damage doesn't look too bad.

It appears I've got all photos. But I think I'm going to purchase a new HDD and set up an off-site backup before I actually put the computer back in action.

Great News, SP! I've got mine in three different places, and I update the photo backups as needed for the online safe, and quarterly or so for the remote HDD. Perhaps a tad overkill, but I'm paranoid.

Oh, just wait till you see my backup script!

You think that's paranoid, I've got a script set up to do nightly updates, weekly updates, and monthly updates. Hence I'll have 6 copies of my data on the remote backup server.

I'm using the same script in reverse to backup my server at work to my house.

I could never trust those suckers, either... one day they're on the shelf, next thing you know, they're GONE! Usually when I want to loan 'em out 'nStuff. It got to the point that I don't care WHAT those DVDs do, let 'em rot, I say. But hey, if you still want to waste your time, eyes glued to the DVD collection on the shelf, that's your business. Won't try to stop you.

I caught one doing a back flip. Then again, that may have been just my cat's doing.

    -------------------

I haven't seen Iron Man yet. Would like to see it. But I expect I'll have to rent it. This is where kids come in handy. They make for a good excuse to see these movies. I have to wait another 12 years before my nephew is old enough to see the PG13 ones. Then I'll have to steal him every so often.
