Morning fellow amphibians. Snowy and cold outside, perfect day to crunch at OC'd levels.

But reading about it, the biggest problem with the 1.1 was sound quality. I only use two speakers, so I shouldn't have any issues with it.
At any rate, got it running last night, and it's crunchin' at stock speeds right now. Soon I'll begin to push it a bit, just to see what happens. It's got a 2000+ and 256MB or Corsair. When I can afford it, I'll get another stick or RAM and run it in dual-channel.

Thanks ... <schlurrrrp>
OK all you NF7-S owners, I gotta question.![]()
<schlurrrrp>
Got my new board, a Rev 1.1. Put my Palomino 2000+ in it with 256MB Corsair PC3200 ... <schlurrrrp> ... a Lucent modem and ATI Rage 128 Pro AGP vid card.
I can't get the ding-dang thing to accept much in the way of a speed bump. It just chokes. Runs fine at stock settings, with a bit of aggressive RAM timings, but no FSB/Multiplier changes.
<schlurrrrp>
Here's the question: Would somebody be able to give me a hint as to what's necessary to get some better performance?
urp!
I'm going to buy another stick of RAM to enable the dual-channel feature, but could that be the entire problem? Or is it related to the Pally core?
<schlurrrrp>
Thanks folks.

what are your cpu temps, and are your cpu voltages at stock?
it would seem if you get NO oc, it would be temp related........
or not enogh power maybe?
usually you can get 5-10% overclock pretty easy.......
maybe somebody in the abit forum could help ya more, since i dont have a abit......
adding another stick of ram would increase your memory bandwidth.... but doubtful it should effect your overclock.
in fact, most report higher overcocks with one stick...
good luck!![]()

Temps are running in the high 50's now. A little warmish, but not alarming.
PS could be an issue. I had planned to rectify that today. The one I have in there now isn't as quiet as my Antec, and I don't like that.Gotta get another.
I'll give 'er another whirl after I replace the PS. Meanwhile it's crunchin' 7-8 WU/day. It could just do better. I know it could do better.

Morning folks
My rev1.2 will be here Tuesday. Do you have your chip unlocked wahoo? If not your probably limited to around 147-155FSB with air-cooling. You can allways put that nice 2100 you got in it![]()

Yep, going to sink that Itanic yet. Picked up 4% using the Barton at the same clock speed. Going to do a little soldering today for more Vdimm, and I have a Swiftech MCW50-T with a 80w pelt for the north bridge, then just need a nice chilly night and a liter of whiskey and that Itanium is mine![]()
