Ah... sleeping on the job again, eh?
Heh... just read through the "It's a Monster" watercooling thead, UB. However, I noticed that the last post was over 30 months ago...
...and since Zombies are so "in" right now, I'm considering a Thread Necromancy post that would force you to update the state of your systems... Mwah ha ha ha haaaaa!
Well, I don't have a 57" TV, but I just ordered a new monitor... I measured my desk, and it will juuuuuuuust fit...
Haans G 28"
It's replacing my current monitor... an NEC 19" 90gx2. Pixel pitch goes up from .264mm to .309mm, but I go from a 19" 4:5 screen to a 28" 3:5 screen. Or thereabouts... 1280x1024 to 1920x1200. Can't wait to game on it... at only $299 it's almost half what I paid for this one 'nStuff. Nice thing: It's from Costco, so I can return it for a refund (including shipping!!!) if I change my mind, or the OLEDs come out for Christmas.
That should help with the photo editing 'n Stuff.
Hey do you calibrate your monitors at all? Not sure how much calibrating you can do on those new ones no a days. I guess its pretty much all software based.
I just got back from Kitchener. Dad wanted to buy a used laptop so I went to go see what it was like. He picked up a Dell Latitude pretty cheep. But before we left I showed him some of the new Netbooks out there. Yeah, he would have gotten more HDD and RAM with a new Netbook, but he would have been stuck with a much smaller display and keyboard. Seeing as he mainly want to use it to download and look at his pictures when he's on the road, I figure this probably would suit him just fine.
Now I should get moving. Got to patch that pool cover, cover the A/C, mow the lawn*.
*For the last time this year!!
Oh, and have you seen any OLEDs out on display yet? I haven't seen any myself. Wondering how they look/stand up.
No idea on the OLEDs... only seen 'em advertised for phone screens so far, and a camera or two. Nothing over 3".
Ya have to calibrate the monitor if you're working photos, otherwise your prints won't match your screen. I start with the normal online calibration images, and then fine tune with a color card printed from the Printer I'm gonna use. And if I can't get it close I borrow somebody's Spyder. ;D
Heck I'm just hoping pc3 which is working as My TV will still work as Its gone black while watching TV 3 times today, It used to just freeze, Now the screen goes black, sounds disappears and the PC will not respond until I pull the power cord as this HP PC has no reset button and the 300w psu is dying, I need the psu to last until November 6th and that's 20 days away, I may have to tear a part this PC to fix the problem for a bit and that won't be easy as I'm not sure how the usb card reader is powered, If only I had an extra $107.00 around now, sigh. The permanent fix is a 750w modular Corsair psu and I'm a bit short of the $169.99 amazon wants, As I don't know if the OCZ 900w ModXstream psu(150x86x165mm) in this PC will fit in the HP as the biggest size I want to put in there is 150x86x160mm in size as the stock size is 150x86x140mm. At least the 1050w psu will not fit as It's too long at around 200mm.

Good Morning all You arthritic frogs, the swamp cooler is covered, the windows are closed and the heater is on, as It's 55F(13C) outside as I post this and when I got up It was 70F in here, Plus pc3 would not respond to the remote, So I had to remove the power cord from the power strip to get pc3(and the TV) to work, November hurry up and get here, I need that 850w psu(which has a mail in rebate of $20, So the psu will only end up costing Me $119.99 total). pc3's current psu forced Me to remove the sidecover from the case and so the blackouts/freezes stopped, now the psu just has to last another 14 or so days. Now It's a warmer 75F and the central heating has just gone back to standby mode.
Yeah, it's in the '40s outside here... the time of year I turn the PC's case around and use the PSU exhaust as a foot heater.
The old Athlon PC fan died yesterday... trying to decide whether to resurrect it, or just strip the Hard Drive. Remember XP2500's?
Might have to get an i7 unit. We'll see.
Well It looks like I may be going to town to get prequaled and maybe buying a house. I do have the one inquiry into My place and My agent is still trying to contact the guy as they've left messages at the persons phone number.
This place looks good, Sure It's a fixer upper as I noted in thread #100, But It's in a good area and is within My price envelope(I lived in the area 5 years ago), Tomorrow I'm going to see the lender and try and get pre-qualified so that I can try and get this place. Oh It's 1440sqft in size, It is on Its own land(no more rent) and is on a permanent foundation, It costs $33,500.00, I'm going to Victorville in the morning to talk to the lender and get the ball rolling and hopefully I'll be prequaled by at least Friday.
I have until Sunday to get in on this and I'll need a 203K FHA loan to flesh It out(so to speak). I have to have a $1,000 cashiers check and I have to have about $3,000 or so for any repairs up front(in a cashiers check), Maybe the lender can help Me there(Or this one is out of reach), At least It's only $100 down, It's a HUD owned place, the listing agent says It's livable now, It just needs some repairs as It was midway through a renovation when HUD got It and some appliances(range, refrige, clothes washer and dryer) . The place also needs a chain link fence and a couple of gates too. The place is 54.4 miles from Me in Hesperia CA.
What do Ya think guys?
