We're supposed to get some snow for the next day or two as well, and then get cold over the weekend.
Maybe I shouldn't have stayed up late last night watching mma when I suspected I was coming down with a cold. Now it's hit with a vengeance.
Morning froggies!

That power supply is just too wimpy for the motherboard.
Parts in zoom2:
1-hdd,
agp card,
1-stick ram,
1-120mm cpu fan,
motherboard,
2-ethernet pci cards(+5 and/or 3.3vdc only).
Other parts: 3-40mm & 4-80mm fans(2-80mm with Lights).
Any cd-rom drive hooked to zoom2 would be usb based and have It's own power supply(outside of 10 mA, If It were hooked up to zoom2).
I'll have to remove those 2 pci cards later and try again.

Evening everyone,
No chance of snow here - it's 9C and we're too close to the coast to ever really get any snow
My dog used to love playing catch with snowballs where we lived before we moved. But he's happily chasing sheep in doggy heaven now
Latest news from Ned, your friendly computer engineer - product of the week this time. SMC ADSL modem/router/firewall that comes with the firewall turned OFF by defaultEven worse, I've never seen such a complicated product to set up, no simple on/off setting - if you understand UNIX style firewall rules and know your port numbers and protocols off by heart then you'll be OK, but this is a product aimed at the consumer market

From What I've read I'm not going to bother taking out the cards as It won't make any real difference, The CPU, fan, hdd and motherboard may be taking all of the Amps anyway,Originally Posted by zoom314
So I'm calling paypal Monday and filing a claim.Hopefully I'll get back My $35.00 and I'll put that to a psu like an Enermax 460w or an Ultra 500w psu(simillar to the Enermax) in February. That and put a heatsinkand maybe the Enermax 350w psuup for sale for the Difference in cost.![]()

zoom3 is the only one that could do It(And I'm about to receive a New Bios chip for zoom3 soon), And zoom1 has a JPAC(Generic?) psu with only 18 Amps on the +12v rail, So I'm borked right now.Originally Posted by RATIFIED

Well I've got what I hope is good news on the Enermax 350w psu that I bought on ebay, The seller has offered to refund all but $10-15 and since I can't send Him the psu as I don't have enough money right now, That seems like a reasonable enough offer and It also means I can sell the thing here on this forum for something like $25.00 or So. That and a Volcano 12(w/K8 & P4 parts) Heatsink/Fan(No screws for attaching the fan to the heatsink, Lost) for about $18.00 It's a rather heavy copper heatsink at 708 grams in weight. And that combined with the $32.00 from the seller and I should have almost enough for either a used eg465p-ve 460w psu or a 500w Ultra psu that is on sale somewhere(It does happen).Originally Posted by zoom314
