    Talking Another Folding@Home question

As you know, I have a very good reason to do this. I am setting up one computer for seti and another for folding. I have two strikes against me (!.) I use dial up modem (they dont have anything else except satillite and the ones that have it say "dont do it"). (2.) I have done 9 units and none have been credited to our team. I open up the console with wordpad and it shows "ancient" and team 734, but when I go to the team link, nothing is credited.
Anyone with any good ideas? Where there is a will there is a way.

    ancient,

You might get some ideas from this thread:

BTW, I'm running the 2.17 version suggested by taz. I did the D/L, it asked for a name and team # then started, been runnin' ok ever since. If I need to shut down for some reason, I just do Ctrl-C and when I restart it picks up where it left off.

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I am running and I use ctl c as well. I put the team in as well as my name. I go to the folder and open up "client" and there it is, my name and team number. I go to check the team stats and I am not there and I have done 9 of these work units. The first few I lost because I used the earlier version and did not know to edit with notepad, but I did two days worth with 2.17, and my name and team was on it.
    thanks again

    ancient,

    You are not listed here:

    http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/teampage?q=734

I had to start over at first because nothing showed up for me, I'm on there now as duncan. I lost the first few WUs but, I guess (hope) they went somewhere useful.

I know and like you, I juust hope they are useful. I dont mind losing the credit but would have liked to see the team recieve it.
The question I have is "why doesnt it credit me, when I am in the folder, as well as the team?" I open up the folder and click on "client" and notepad opens it up and me and the team is listed. hehe The misterios happening. I am hoping one of the our team members will know if you dont. I want to thank you so much for helping me.
    thanks again

    Cool

Dear Ancient......i did a little tracking to see if i could find you as an independant user.....but without any luck.
Since your work and your WU's are not showing up anywhere...may i suggest that you try to uninstall Folding@home and make a fresh install with our Team number (734) and the name you want to use ???
Hopefully that will solve the problem and there's little to lose by doing so. At any rate ....just an idea.

    Thank you NeWs dAwG
And I am going to follow your advice. It was starting to be funny though.

As soon as I dump XP on the other computer and reinstall Win 2000 Pro. I will then reinstall, that is, after I find that link again (Im losing it, I didn't even bookmark that link ) Thats why this project is near and dear to me.
    thanks again
