    Folding Monitor Question

Anyone else using FM to view all processors on a network?

If so, do you know a way to DELETE a client without wiping the whole Client configs for all machines and starting over?

Now that Tigs has moved his main rig over to Folding, we've put the old laptop back on SETI and I'd like to take it off my FM, but can't figure out how to do it.

I just deleted my folding monitor.

I start and stop too often to get any real use from FM. Now I use a calculator and my watch......LOL

Yes, is kinda stinks that it won't keep track of things unless it's actually up and running while a WU is uploaded.

But, I've become accustomed to it, and I love the fact that it tracks how many of each kind of WU I do, as well as the average CPU time, and even tells me the % of crunching each system is contributing to the whole.

    Call me an addict.

You must be really addited. I got rid of the Folding Monitor after a few days.
Too bad there's not something as stable and accurate as Setiwatch for the little green molecules

Ummmm, I think Tigs tried that and it messed something up on his. He had to scrap the whole thing and start again FM from scratch. Don't want to lose my history; I'll leave it alone before I'll risk that. lol

It works well - I use it quite often if my network plays up - maybe its just my configuration but rather than mess a round with the network I just edit the particular PC out and add it back in and sign in as Admin and it all back running fine.

Just to remove one PC is no issue.

You can monitor any FAH@Console exe file you can "see" from one Folding Monitor. To do this, you click on Add New Client under the Options button. It will ask you to find the other exe file. Once found, it will create a new "client". You will be able to toggle clients using the < > buttons on the bottom of the window.

I went ahead and did an smbfs mount from Linux to the NT folding folder, edited the config file and it picked it right up, but now I am getting whacky negative readings from the Folding Monitor.... am I going to have to wait until it posts the wu and go forward?.....

The only issue with Folding monitor is that all the computers you montitor must be set within a few seconds of each other. If they are not you end up with - time and other wierdness.

LOL, Tigs found that out today. I haven't had a problem with it yet, but when he added me, my clock was off from the rest of the network. Don't know why it didn't effect me, but it didn't, just him. Weird.

Haven't had one of those yet. And from what ND says, maybe I'm lucky!
