yes it's a southen version of white castle.

If you have never seen a white castle or Krystle there little hamburgers about 2 1/2 on one side and really thin. Square buns and even matched cheese. They have little holes in the meat so it cooks easier. Ohhhhhh they even come with grilled onions.....Hence the lamen term gut buster. Can also be called sliders"buy em buy the bag"

I grew up in and around Raleigh, NC where there's been a KK factory/store as long as I can remember........one can ease in any time day or night and see all kinds of folks. Families, china-faced young'uns, Old men sipping coffee late into the night. I can remember leaving nose prints on the window looking at all the donuts going by on the conveyer. You could see the intire process while sitting at your stool. There's nothing like asking for a donut and have the waitperson fetch one hot just out of the glazing thing.

Oh Dear.......You know when you think or see something good to eat, and the spit gland in the hinge of your jaw goes to acheing? Owww!!
