At work, we have a small Unix server running Sun 5.0.
I'd put seti on it but can't even figure out how to get
to the internet on it. It has dsl and modem hookups
but all those strange commands

Except the client will be different, the installation should be the same.
Ask your sysadmin which version of solaris you run (2.6, 2.7, 2.8)
