windows 7 and onboard realtek lan-will not start, code 10

okay, i upgraded my rig that has the GA-MA790GP-UD4H, with windows 7 home prem upgrade.. okay, everything went fine, and was impressed with how much windows 7 is than vista...just works better, period....

okay, after the upgrade, my onboard realtek lan quite working. ..i have a dlink pci card installed, so i hooked up to that and it works...well , tonight i went into the device manager and found out my realtek onboard lan was not able to start, code 10 error...i was thinking, well, maybe a bios upgrade, and yes , there was one..did that, still would not start. i also downloaded the realtek drivers from the gig site, still onboard lan not working..

the last effort i made, and my final thought on this problem , went to realtek site and downloaded the windows 7 64 bit driver, it installed successfully, and went to device manager, bingo, it stated it was working properly, hooked my rj--45 cable to the realtek port, and it works...thought i would pass this along for those that might have the same problem.

Yes, I've encountered the same issue with Realtek gigabit LAN adapters on a multitude of machines with Vista installs as well. Though installing the drivers from the manufacturer of the product in question (laptop, mobo, etc.) has usually fixed the problem.

Number? No, I don't mind being a number as long as the number is 1.

Yeah I had to use an older driver for a long time with my gigabyte board's nic because the ones windows update would find would break it. Gigabyte has a driver for the nic on their website now though.
