Laptop Keyboards

I was wondering about this but can I use a keyboard that came from a Sony PCG-R505EL laptop to a Sony PCG-R505ESP laptop? I saw a seller on Ebay is selling a keyboard for the PCG-R505EL and it looks exactly the same as my keyboard. I have the PCG-R505ESP laptop from Sony.

Re: Laptop Keyboards

Since it's such a specialized part, you may want to ask Sony's support structure -- if they will tell you.

Otherwise, asking the seller to post pics of the keyboard's serial/model numbers and any other information (what does the connector look like vs your current one?) may help some.

Unfortunately, I have little direct experience with Sony laptops so that's about all I can do for you.

Re: Laptop Keyboards

I did just now talked to Sony tech support and they said it will work since both machines are pretty much the same. I didn't know that Sony will know about this.

Re: Laptop Keyboards

Another easy way to find out is to look for keyboards on both models and cross-check part numbers or when you find the keyboard for one, often it will also include a compatibility list. I'd confirmed this about three hours ago but had a blackout just as I was responding
