Half life 2 error 1334 fix

Ok heres the fix you need for your 1334 error
Ive seen 400 people with this error . Requires that you have winzip if you dont go get it its free on the internet

ERROR : in General is 1334 Cant read the file Hl24 CAB file is corrupt or similiar file is corrupt when first installing game you may have a similiar file not being read by the Half life install Mechanism .

The Fix : when you get your error it will say cant read file retry or quit . Dont touch anything when you get to this point go get a soda and return with a calm hand .
open My computer and go to where you installed steam. open the Steam folder and leave it there all the while not touching the original install screen that is stuck at the screen saying the error ( hope you follow )

Next open a second instance of my computer and navigate to the cd drive where you have the half life disk right click on the disc icon and click open right click on the file CAB HL24 and drag it to the folder where you have steam installed
Right click on the CAB file and click extract here if it says file is corrupt manually open the CAB file and drag each file independently to the Steam folder

after you accomplish this goto the original error screen and click retry with a bit of Magic your installation will continue You will need Winzip of course to make this fix possible make sure you have it or youll be lost

nice, i dont have this problem but ive seen some people with it, winzip isnt free btw but there is a trial, welcome to the forums!
