WD Harddrive AAJS or JS

Can anyone tell me the difference between a WD1600AAJS and a WD1600JS hard drive.

As far as I can tell JS is manufactured before December 2005, AAJS is manufactured in December 2005 and after.

may be best to go for the newer drive as it could be using platters with higher data density (and fewer platters).

From a post at another forum, the AA designates that the drive has a single platter.
