After reading that review, i cant help but feel disappointed. I was hoping to step up to this model from an 8800GTS 320. Nvidia shouldn't let their higher priced cards be beaten by the GT!
Re: The new 8800GTS... Is this really all it's got?
i've heard we may see 9xxx cards by the end of the month, the end of the year, or well into next year.
it's anyones guess.
with 40 days to step up hold off as long as you can, there's been talk of a g92 based gts coming out this month. gts may not be what nv decides to call it, but it will be an uncrippled version of the g92 used in the 8800gt, meaning 128sp instead of 112.
i have 12 days to step up myself and i'm crossing my fingers that this card surfaces.
i was hoping the 112sp g80 gts would do better against the 8800gt. now if i have to choose between the two for my stepup i'm really not sure which to pick.
the 8800gts does better at higher res and in dx10, but not a great deal more. the 8800gt may oc better and diminish that lead or overtake it.
i'll wait for some more reviews, [H] has said they'll be reviewing it as well.
this is really going to be a tough decision.
