New (G92) 8800GTS 512MB - Reviewed

Review courtesy of Tweaktown. Maybe Santa will have one of these waiting for me to EVGA Step-up to, although I'll have to read a few more reviews comparing this to the GT to see if it's worth it. If the card actually appears at the MSRP it will be, fat chance though.

Glad to see a full sized heatpipe style heatsink on that also. Glad I held off upgrading for the last 6 weeks. Been quite a busy few weeks release wise. Might be a G92 in my near future.

Re: New (G92) 8800GTS 512MB - Reviewed

i bought my evga overclocked 8800 gts 512 last month, today i tried to install my zalman1000 cooler /heatsink combo. first off the heatsink does not match up even though it says its for gts cards must be the older ones, so i used the small heatsinks that come with the cooler i get everything on then i find it requires a three pin power source, i didnt bother to look into my dell XPS 420 before. i cant find anywhere at all to hook this fan to a power source. am i missing something? the plug that comes with this cooler does not match anything i can find on my comp. i sent it back, im hoping the fan that comes with this card is good enough

Yup, regarding the Heatsink not fitting, I pointed this out in the other thread you had going on regarding the Zalman VF1000 & RHS88 Heatsink. I would suggest you continue posting in that thread because it already has all the background info for your problem as well as pics which illustrate what's going on .....

I'll answer the fan question in your other thread ....
