i think this is the first board that i've bought that didn't come with dust on the box, been out a year or more, open box or discontinued. heck the bios was only released 6 weeks ago.
first off, i've never had a ecs board that didn't work as advertised. i always refer to the k7s5a as the little board that could. great cheap cross over board from sd to ddr that for years gave a zillion oc'rs many ways to make it faster(none of which were ecs sanctioned

).
kudos to ecs with their kn1 and some of their other 939 boards but for some reason seemed to have fallen flat on their face when it's come to the am2. as far as i can see, it's all bios issues. i'm going to use my ka3 mvp for comparison.
with the ka3, i and some others found the vcore pretty much anemic with only a plus .05v. as for memory adustments they left out cas, command rate and the vdimm comes up a little short but adequate considering the other options.
i'm using at the moment a 3600 brisbane and have 4 sets of memory that i have cycled through(pc6400: corsair c4/2.1v, patriot c4/2.2v, adata c5/1.8v & pc8500 crucial tracer cas 5/2.2v).
what we have for bios options: cas settings, vdimm of at least 2.3v, vcore of at least 1.55v, so some issues have been addressed. i'm not convinced they did it for me but possibly for future upgrade compatibility.
what we don't have

, any of the usual additional memory settings, ie. tras, trp, etc., command rate, and downward multi control(at least one other manufacturer's board has this issue).
what i've seen so far and many jumper resets has been that the cas 4 ram, even when set to cas 5, refuses to boot above 260 htt. with both cas 5 ram i have seen 290-300 htt but only stable at 280 htt.
i'm current running orthos at 2660mhz@9.5x280 with the tracer set at 1:1/532fsb, vcore 1.425 & ram 2.2v stock.
i'm going to run through the other sets of ram as times goes on to see where and what is going on(within my limits, considering the absence of tech abilities). i think the cas 4 memory is being set at 1t and with other board and cpu combinations, i've always had to run 2t.
take note when setting the ht multiplier, one must hit enter and cursor down in the red pop up window to select what you want and hit enter again. otherwise using any of the other keys will result in having to hit alt, crtl & delete, then reenter the bios and start over. it had me going for a while till i got luckyand found the right trick.
also, the ecs website has a pdf for memory placement. instead of the usual closest to the cpu, they recommend slots 3 & 4. from what i've seen, they're nutzzzzzzzzz! i've tried it and rejected that placement.
