comodo update slows pc?

i got an update promt thim morning so i updated comodo. ever since my pc froze up twice, i was told my system recovered from a serious error, and starting up applications and things like moving my mouse to get rid of the screen saver have been really slow. it seems that application initialization is slow then the application runs fine shortly thereafter (or sometimes several minutes thereafter).

why?

Re: comodo update slows pc?

eventlog.exe is talking about half my cpu whilst stclient_wrapper is taking about the other half. first one seems associated with my belkin psu and the other seems to be something with openoffice.

why is this happening?

Re: comodo update slows pc?

it did the same thing this start up. i had to shut down those two programs. they're only supposed to run on start up. why would they start doing this right after an update of my firewall?

Re: comodo update slows pc?

There was another update yesterday for Comodo. Have you run that one?
I had no probs with either and I am using NOD32.

Re: comodo update slows pc?

Might be worth a try to check or post over on the Comodo forums:

Hope that helps.
