Hello, NewEgg is not posting the warranty on the new 4800 series cards. I’d like to know who has a “Life Time” , a 3year warranty? Will any manufacture allow changing the coolers with out voiding the warranty? I went to a few manufactures web sight and the info is hard to find? Can a Admin here get a list up ,it sure be great to know. Are they cutting back on warranty time?
Thanks or your reply’s .
I think the longest warranty is offered by Visiontek and Asus which is 3 years. There may be others but I don't think any of them will have a lifetime warranty at least on the Ati side. And no you can't modify Ati cards at all or the warranty will void.
Visiontek has offered a Limited Lifetime Warranty for a while now and they're the only ATI vendor that does this. Also as Solofly said, change coolers and you void your warranty. Unless of course you're careful about it.
I wrote to Visiontek and received as a reply that the 4850 was covered by the Visiontek limited lifetime warranty. You have to pay shipping forth and back (20 USD in the form of a money order) with their warranty and they reserve the right to ask for a small fee (up to 25$) for repairing it in some circumstances when they find that the card failure was unusual and could have bene caused by miususe. Also their warranty states that if you damaged the card or removed the cooler they have the right to refuse the replacement
Solofly: Is that $20.00 each way for mailing the Visiontek, where they at ? Plus another 25.00 for repair , that could run up to $65.00 total. ????
No, that's only $65 if you took a sledge hammer to the card or modified it with you're one cooler. In other words if you didn't break it, you "only" pay the shipping.
$40 isn't a bad deal to get a card fixed or replaced under warranty. After 2-3 years, the card may not be worth spending $40, but then again, the card you have now might fit the bill for years to come. It's a nice option to have.

Below is the revised table I put together after seeing multiple questions on the inclusion of power adapters. If anyone sees any inaccuracies, please let me know so I can fix. Like I had to ask...
The only extras I've seen with any of these cards are from HIS which inlude a screwdriver/flashlight/level tool. Asus which includes "Alone in the Dark" game and Powercolor HD 4850 which has a ATI Remote Control for a limited time on Newegg.
