Antec Twelve Hundred build pictures

Well I finally got some pics of my Antec Twelve Hundred Build....now that it is finally finished. I sleeved all of the fan wires with yellow UV tech flex sleeving to match the green and yellow layout of the board. I apologize in advance for some of the blurry photos....still trying to learn the ins and outs of my new SLR digicam.

First an overall shot....I had originally replaced my original Antec nine hundred fans with scythes, so I had 3 extra tri-cools lying around, one of which went onto my TRUE 120:

I was also able to fit the middle fan bracket from the 900 onto the twelve hundred as well:

Bottom part of the case....you can see the Corsair psu, the two re3 drives in RAID, and the WD black drive:

Top part....you can see the reapers as well as the fan on the Thermalright IFX-14 backsied cooler.

Here is the shot of the very unique heatsink that protrudes from the case on the newer DFI UT motherboards....it is great because the rear fans blow right thru it:

Final shot with the side panel on:

The cable management of this case is the greatest I've seen....when it is dark I'll take a photo on night vision mode to get the true effect of all of the fans.

Thanks! The wiring job was made much easier because I have a modular psu, and I don't use any ide cables....you should see the backside of the mobo tray its a freakin mess!!!!.....matter of fact I'll take a shot of it and post it today. Out of sight out of mind.

I love the cold cathode tubes you have in your case....how did you go about mounting those?

Thanks. I like those cathode tubes as well. Bought them from frys. They have little 2 side adhesives you can apply one part to case one part to tube and you can separate (for the love of me i cant remember the name of the thing... Does 3M ring a bell to what im talking about?? and the whole thing attaches to a 4 pin molex. the way it glows at night is amazing. THe back of my case is a mess as well

Wow, I still can't get over how large that case is, maybe not length wise, but is it ever tall. Amazing job on the wiring. Everything looks clean and elegant. Good job.

She’s a beast, a beauty of a beast. Not enough FANS though… couldn’t you squeeze another one in there somewhere?

LOL....I actually used to have a push/pull config with my last Antec tricool fan but I found it actually hurt temps rather than help, so I took it out.

What I'd really like to do is custom modify a replacement non-windowed side panel with smaller window and two 120's or another 200mm bib boy with leds. So far I can't find them on the antec part list for sale. The side panel with the window is the only thing I don't like about this case.

Re: Antec Twelve Hundred build pictures

I remember ages ago some of the modding sites were selling a monster 270 mm fan. IIRC it has serrated trailing edges that were supposed to reduce noise but this thing did not operate at low RPM and it wasn’t quiet, or so I am told.

I remember it didn’t come with a fan guard of any kind so people were warned to get one or risk loosing any digit accidentally coming into contact with this beast while it was running.

Now THAT was a kick arse fan.

Re: Antec Twelve Hundred build pictures

Well I splurged for a second 4870 that should be arriving today.....well actually I sold the visiontek in the pics and got two of these.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814103064

Hopefully I'll get two that don't have artifact problems. I'll take some more pics when I get them installed, as well as that backpanel pic I promised (I tell you what....even with a modular power supply the cable wiring on the back is extreme).

Also replacing my E8400 with an E8600....those babies are clocking to 4.0ghz on stock voltage, while my E8400 has trouble at 4ghz even with 1.4v. Now I just need to save up for the really big purchase, which will be a 30" LCD....but I'm waiting for prices to drop around X-mas time for that one. Then, I think the rig will be complete....until Nehalem comes out LOL

Re: Antec Twelve Hundred build pictures

If you were interested in another side couldn't you just make some brackets and super-glue it to the side window? It would reguire some holes, but I think it could be done.

LOL, yeah....I'm thinking I may take it to my buddies house and let his dad (who has more tools than God) do the work for me.

Re: Antec Twelve Hundred build pictures

Well, I got mine working this weekend:

First thing I did was to put some wheels on this suitcase! I'm getting ready for back surgery and this monster weighs a ton!

Tons of room, right now...

Now it's full. I tell ya, it took a lot of work to get the wiring well hidden, but with some planning it came off well, me thinks.

Closeup:

Screenshot time. I's actually running fine at 11x multi and just over 3.6 GHz on air. I have my cooler pointing up, however.
