*FIXED*How to disable "TLB fix"......

Im sure most of you know of this issue the original B2 revision phenoms had.
Fact is that mobo manufacturers made a fix for this issue through mobo bios.It stabalized everything at the cost of around 10% performance I think.

Well the new B3 revision phenoms dont have this TLB bug and dont need this fix.
How do I turn it off this fix I dont need since I have new revision? It must be somewhere in bios.

Re: How to disable "TLB fix"......

Some mainboards have the option to disable it in bios. Otherwise download the latest AMD Overdrive utility and click the green circle to yellow or even red.

The dfi bios manual for your board http://us.dfi.com.tw/Upload/BIOS/DK790FX.pdf

Check the genie bios section, and the Dram configuration>MCT memory timing>TBL Cache mode: Enable /Disable TBL cache for Phenom DRAM controller.

I think this has to be enabled before it appears in Genie.

Re: How to disable "TLB fix"......

I know its supposed to be in DRAM section of genie tab.

Dont see it.

I looked everywhere in genie and the dram section, there is nothing in there about TLB fix

I tried hitting f8 like it says to show it but it still wont show.

Hmm maybe cause my bios is newer? its dated 3/5/08

Does the toggle even have an effect for the newer CPUs?

Re: How to disable "TLB fix"......

Hmm thats what im thinking......

Maybe it sees its a new revision so removes the option?
I dunno

AMD overdrive sees the fix as enabled.
I want it off in the first place and from the bios.

I flashed this mobo to latest bios, dont recall if the option was in previous bios

Re: How to disable "TLB fix"......

If you REEEEEALY want to, most mobo manufacturers keep a list of all their bios revisions available.

You COULD downgrade to a pre- TLB fixed version.

Re: How to disable "TLB fix"......

Maybe it shows as "enabled" to tell you that there's no error with your revision type and hence its "fixed" and needs no action on your part.

Re: How to disable "TLB fix"......

My understanding is the Fix is automatically turned off with B3.

Which bios are you using?

There is a new bios finally:
