Shoulder Pads...

I dont know what it is, but there has been an insidious trend in gaming art for the last few years revolving around stupidly large and overcompensating shoulder pads.

The most glaring offender is none other than WoW, where shoulder pads have become equivalent to giant E-penises.

Which looks disturbingly like these zombie snails:

Even the girls are in on it.

What the hell are those? The only orbs I want to see on a girl are ones made by god or silcon. That just looks like 3 heads from afar.

Everyone knows that warcraft is just a warhammer spin-off/knock-off, so it makes me wonder if this is the source of all this silliness.

And naturally, EA hops on the bandwagon too...

Re: Shoulder Pads...

Everyone knows that over-the-top shoulder pads belong on a) dresses from the '80s

or b) NFL players (coincidence? I think not. )

Shoulder pads are a fashion faux pas, long past relevancy and disdain; it is a cliché in every sense of the word. Game designers and artists should know better (I'm looking at you, Blizzard and Epic )

Re: Shoulder Pads...

I hate to break the sad Fashion News to you: Shoulder Pads are officially coming back in women's fashion. It's something akin to "A Great Idea comes along once in a lifetime; Bad Ideas come back around every 20 years..."

Been watching the CMA Awards again, haven't you? I blame Reba McEntire and her ilk.

It seems that Japanese designers are resurrecting this abomination (Europe *ahem* shoulders no blame in this; the spring collections from the likes of Dior, Gucci and Valentino are all the validation you need (don't ask me how I know this ) )
