Left 4 Dead 2

Nov 17 is the release date listed on Steam and Gogamer.com. Steam doesn't mention a price but GoGamer has a "special" (possibly pre-order) price of $39.90 reduced from the regular price of $49.90. Hopefully a better pre-order price will be available at some point on Steam.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2

They might have the 1/2 price weekend a few weeks or a couple months into L4D2's release. Or maybe a discount to all L4D1 owners? :O That'd be sweet, but I don't think it'll happen :P

Re: Left 4 Dead 2

Hey 3d good idea but we had an older thread for L4D2 already so I merged yours into this thread and we'll use it as a bump to get the discussion going

I'm mainly interested in deals. I'm hoping to not pay more than $30 for L4D2.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2

ok I saw some clips of it. L4D2. There's a grenade launcher and a map with a carnival. Saw some zombies there that looked like clowns. lol

Wouldn't be surprised if the final game looks totally different than the preview stuff.

That Hitlers at it again with his crazy ranting. I wasn't involved with the boycott movement. Although I think they have legitimate concerns about L4D2. Obvious room for improvement.

Ranters, I get annoyed by them in real life. Wish they would shut up and take the time to listen half of the time instead. I would probably walk away from a ranter. Because they seem ignorant and should pay attention instead. I have good things to say.

» Valve prepping L4D2 demo for those who pre-order

As Shacknews reports, Valve plans to release a Left 4 Dead 2 demo next month for gamers who choose to pre-order the game. The demo will be made available for both the Xbox 360 and PC platforms on October 27th, while the final game is still on track for its Nov 17th release date.

Dumd A$$es how about a demo for those who might want to buy the game but are on the fence? Why give a demo to those that have already bought the game?

I know. They have turned a sales tool into some sort of award. Lame.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2

Valve announces Scavenge mode for Left 4 Dead 2
Besides the new campaigns and weapons, Left 4 Dead 2 will feature a new multiplayer mode: Scavenge. Here's the PR:

Oct 8, 2009 - Valve, creator of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced Scavenge, the fourth game mode to be included in its upcoming zombie thriller, Left 4 Dead 2.

Scavenge mode challenges players to compete in round-based games of up to 8 players (Survivors vs. Infected). The Survivors must battle both the Infected and the clock as they collect gas cans to refuel a generator located in each map. Every can the Survivors pour into the generator scores their team a point and adds time to the clock.

On defense, the Infected team plays as the boss Infected (including the new Spitter, Jockey, and Charger). They must keep the Survivors from fueling the generator by attacking them, destroying the gas cans, or running out the clock. During a round, each team gets an opportunity to play both sides, with the round going to whichever team successfully delivers the most cans.

Coming exclusively to Xbox 360 and PC, L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-operative action games and become one of 2009's marquee titles. Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaws, frying pans, axes, baseball bats, and more.

L4D2 also introduces the AI Director 2.0, adding the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom-fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.

Finally, with new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original, featuring more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, new Survival maps, and a brand new competitive mode all available at launch.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2

I don't know. Probably just one copy. I saw L4D2 has a campaign called Hard Rain. One of the two new campaigns I was told of.

Just rumor at the moment. Only the game itself can confirm these campaigns are in or not when it is released.
