Question USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 cord?

golden bridge usb cable E178896 (ul) type cm 75degreesC 28awgx1p/24awgx2c csa LL69620 awm I/II A/B 80degreesC 30V FT4

This is one of those for a printer with the regular USB end for the computer and other "almost square with two corners cut" printer end.

Re: USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 cord?

I believe it is just a different, older form factor that can be either standard. I realize this doesn't answer you question but I can't say for sure.

Re: USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 cord?

As long as it's shielded it should be able to transfer at usb2.0 speeds even if it was a cable released during the USB1.1 days.

Re: USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 cord?

All USB cables should be shielded by default. So there shouldn't be any difference between a so called USB 2 cable verses a so called USB 1.

This doesn't apply to networking cables since they literally twist the wires together to provide shielding rather then using an actual shield. Depending on how tightly the wires are twisted will determine the frequency (in turn the speed) that they offer shielding.

So if you've heard about some cables being able to carry data faster then others, it would be about networking cables not USB cables. If you seen any USB cables advertised as being USB 2.0 compatible, its just a sales gimmick since all compliant USB cables are USB 2.0 compatible.

Re: USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 cord?

USB cables spec for USB2.0 and USB1.1 is the same. If they can't deliver USB2.0 transfer speeds, the cable is not up to spec.

EDIT: SP already mentioned this
