How do i remove this?

It was used to install a shelf. I had to make 2 big holes to enter this waxy "base" thing, then screw in the included screws. I've removed the screws, but I cant seem to figure out how to get this waxy stuff out.

Re: How do i remove this?

You sure it is not nylon? If so, you will need to cut the round part off using diagonal cutters, then push the rest into the wall. Then patch and go!

Ya, it looks like a nylon/plastic anchor/rawl. Like John said, cut the exposed part off and patch it up good as new..

Re: How do i remove this?

yup, if you cant fit cutters in there, i would get a sharp object like a razor blade and try to cut it that way

home depot sells some sort of patch kit that looks like a glue stick, and you just dab it on the wall and use the included scraper to get the excess off, a friend used it and he said it worked very good

Re: How do i remove this?

I think its nylon.

Ok, if I just leave it in, then so be it. I was trying to pry it out with a hammer and it wasnt working.

I can replace these easily right? Since I still want to use the shelf again.

taking it out could make a bigger hole depending on the type of anchor it is. if it's for a shelving system it probably expands once in the wall.

yes you can replace it if you buy a small hardware kiit for your particular shelving system. 3M i'm guessing? but why bother if you're going to use it again?

Re: How do i remove this?

A good patch job will cover even a slightly larger hole. Insert screw, pull it out, and patch. Probably twice, however.

Indeed. 3/8" hole or 1/2" hole isn't much difference in patching..

Re: How do i remove this?

I was able to remove it after all. I had to either remove it or conceal it because I moved. Thanks for the tips.
