********admin Can We Have A Sticky Nforce Post Please********

Please could we have a sticky post for all nForce Asus based motherboards ( Asus A7N266 including -C and -E versions)

It appears a lot of posts are beeing repeated with the same questions and problems, and past posts are getting pushed far down cant find them!!!!!

Thanks

PS. PLease change the heading to A7N266 Problems/Solutions ** Sticky or something

OKay I will start............

The problem im having with my system is the nForce APU program that sits on the taskbar dont work properly when u try to select SPDIF, it comes up with an error saying 'An unsupported operation was attempted', currently NO fix seems to be available.

Actually, since I posted about it well before you did, I think I'll keep my thread alive instead.

Thats a bit of a silly attitude to have isnt it???

Im only trying to make it easy for other A7N266 owners to solve issues, I have seen the same problems posted again and again when solutions have been given weeks ago.

Ive just seen a new post asking about how to reset the AGP bus to 66mhz as by deafault the bus runs to high.

The answer is u have to disable the Jumper Free setting and set the frequency manually thru the jumpers on the board, bootup and check using some program if the frequency is normal then u can go back and setk to jumper free mode and the AGP bus will run at normal speed.

Well, I thought about it, and it seems this thread is just one of "countless other posts". I believe we've done more discussion of board issues in my first A7N266-C thread, so I'd rather support what has more content to it. But you're right, it is a silly attitude to stick with something that's active over something that's not.

Could we please have the sticky and title of this thread moved to a thread that actually contains pre-existing content regarding this series of motherboards? Or a new thread altogether, started by a moderator?

Just wanna add that I had to set the fsb to 133 for the fix to work with the jumpers.

To "harvy2001"

Your problems fix is: Uninstall the "NVIDIA nForce APU1 Utilities" from Control Panel/Add, Remove Programs. Enter the "Regional and Language Options" from control panel. Set all options(Under "Standarts and formats, Location, Language and non-Unicode programs, Text Services and Input Languages) to USA (in some "United States"(!!!!)). Install the ACR6CH Control Utility from Asus Driver CD. Now, It work normally. And now you will change the "Regional and Language Settings" to your standarts. Bye

prime95 problem

Does anyone have problem running prime95 torture test under Windows XP Pro using A7N-266C? It always gives me error after starting the test for a while, similar to this:

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4999814034, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

I would me apprectiate if someone could try prime95 on their A7N266-X and share your experience here.

Thank you very much

Re: prime95 problem

Also in other oses to see if the issue is related to Windows XP. Had no problem with Prime95 in Windows 2000 SP2 when lowering my XP 1600+ to 100mhz fsb/mem. 133mhz though I get a instant blackscreen when running Prime95 for a long while, 140mhz it goes alot faster to reproduce that error. Pls post you results people and be sure to run the test at least 10h.

Unhappy

I overclocked my XP 1700+ to 865MHz (6.5 x 133) and ran prime95 torture test... It failed after about 16 hours with the same error:

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4997141887, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
